Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Wonder Buhle Mbambo could be acquired at Phillips in March this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art: Online Auction auction, this work without title changed hands for USD 5,080.00 (€ 4,672.55) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wonder Buhle Mbambo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Hearts in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 175,000.00 (€ 151,488.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wonder Buhle Mbambo konnte im März diesen Jahres bei Phillips für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art: Online Auction wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 5.080,00 (€ 4.672,55) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wonder Buhle Mbambo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Hearts im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 175.000,00 (€ 151.488,92).
