Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Wonder Buhle Mbambo could be acquired at Christies in New York in September last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War to Present auction, the work The peace Preachers I and II changed hands for USD 42,000.00 (€ 42,931.62) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wonder Buhle Mbambo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Hearts, which sold at auction in October 2021 for USD 175,000.00 (€ 151,488.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wonder Buhle Mbambo konnte im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War to Present wechselte die Arbeit The peace Preachers I and II für USD 42.000,00 (€ 42.931,62) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wonder Buhle Mbambo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Hearts beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für USD 175.000,00 (€ 151.488,92) versteigert wurde.
