Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Reishouse (Rice House) by Wolfgang Laib. The price achieved of USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,432.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wolfgang Laib - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Milkstone, which sold at auction in December 2016 for EUR 112,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Reishouse (Rice House) von Wolfgang Laib zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.432,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Wolfgang Laib mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Milkstone beobachtet, die im Dezember 2016 für EUR 112.500,00 versteigert wurde.
