Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Rice House by Wolfgang Laib for USD 10,625.00 (€ 8,624.19). This price was achieved in the auction TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wolfgang Laib achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Milkstone in December 2016 with an auction result of EUR 112,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Rice House von Wolfgang Laib für USD 10.625,00 (€ 8.624,19) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wolfgang Laib erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Milkstone im Dezember 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 112.500,00.
