This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Post-War British Art at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 250,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Winston Churchill have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tower Of The Koutoubia Mosque in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 8,285,000.00 (€ 9,732,740.78).
