Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Bridge at Aix-en-Provence by Winston Churchill was auctioned at Christies in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,702,500.00 (€ 2,017,002.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Winston Churchill have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tower Of The Koutoubia Mosque in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 8,285,000.00 (€ 9,732,740.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Bridge at Aix-en-Provence von Winston Churchill kam im Oktober 2021 bei Christies zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500.000,00 – 2.500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.702.500,00 (€ 2.017.002,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Winston Churchill auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tower Of The Koutoubia Mosque im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.285.000,00 (€ 9.732.740,78).
