The »bidding war« ended at GBP 290,100.00 (€ 336,159.66), 45% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Winston Churchill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tower Of The Koutoubia Mosque in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 8,285,000.00 (€ 9,732,740.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 45 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Branksome Dene 50 x 60 cm. (19 11/16 x 23 5/8 in.) von Winston Churchill wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 290.100,00 (€ 336.159,66) und damit 45% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Winston Churchill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tower Of The Koutoubia Mosque im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.285.000,00 (€ 9.732.740,78).
