Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Canal At St-Georges-Motel by Winston Churchill was sold in the Churchill to Eden: The Collection of the Earl and Countess of Avon auction at Christies in London in October last year. The price achieved of GBP 327,600.00 (€ 381,650.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200,000.00 – 400,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Winston Churchill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tower Of The Koutoubia Mosque in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 8,285,000.00 (€ 9,732,740.78).

Die Arbeit The Canal At St-Georges-Motel von Winston Churchill wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Churchill to Eden: The Collection of the Earl and Countess of Avon bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 327.600,00 (€ 381.650,37) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 200.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Winston Churchill erzielen.
