Upper estimate price exceeded by 34 %.
The work View in the Italian Alps by Winston Churchill was sold in the Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in June 2021. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 402,200.00 (€ 468,667.56), 34% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Winston Churchill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tower Of The Koutoubia Mosque in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 8,285,000.00 (€ 9,732,740.78).
