Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work View of the Mediterranean near San Raphael by Winston Churchill was sold in the Modern British and Irish ArtEvening Sale auction at Christies in October 2021. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 487,500.00 (€ 577,555.83), 22% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Winston Churchill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tower Of The Koutoubia Mosque in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 8,285,000.00 (€ 9,732,740.78).

Die Arbeit View of the Mediterranean near San Raphael von Winston Churchill wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish ArtEvening Sale bei Christies versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 487.500,00 (€ 577.555,83) und damit 22% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Winston Churchill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tower Of The Koutoubia Mosque im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.285.000,00 (€ 9.732.740,78).
