Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by William Wood was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2012. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,662.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Wood - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Young Officer, In Red Coat With Blue Collar, Gold Epaulette And White Cross-Belt With Gold Plate, Black Cravat, which sold at auction in July 2005 for GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,535.59).
