In June 2007 Christies in London held the auction Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes, which included the work Grace Louisa, Countess of Ormonde (1779-1860), In Lace-Bordered White Dress, The Short Sleeves Bordered In Gold, Drop-Pearl Earring, Brown And White Bandeau In Her Long Powdered Curling Hair by William Wood. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,684.44). Other works by William Wood have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,535.59) in July 2005 for the work A Young Officer, In Red Coat With Blue Collar, Gold Epaulette And White Cross-Belt With Gold Plate, Black Cravat.

Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.684,44) einen neuen Besitzer.
