Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Highland cattle by William R. C. Watson was sold in the BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES auction at Christies in London in November 2001. The price achieved of GBP 2,585.00 (€ 4,113.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William R. C. Watson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sheep grazing by a loch, which sold at auction in October 2008 for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,153.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Highland cattle von William R. C. Watson wurde im November 2001 in der Auktion BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.585,00 (€ 4.113,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William R. C. Watson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sheep grazing by a loch beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 11.153,11) versteigert wurde.
