Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Muscleman and Life Buoy, 1996 by William Robinson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 16,605.00 (€ 14,711.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Robinson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Landscape With Sunset And Self Portrait in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 696,000.00 (€ 427,957.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Muscleman and Life Buoy, 1996 von William Robinson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 16.605,00 (€ 14.711,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Robinson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Landscape With Sunset And Self Portrait im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 696.000,00 (€ 427.957,48).
