Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Robinson could be acquired at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work Australian Botan Creek, Rainforest changed hands for AUD 144,000.00 (€ 74,257.44) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 160,000.00 – 200,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Robinson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian Landscape With Sunset And Self Portrait in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 696,000.00 (€ 427,957.48).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Robinson konnte im November 2008 bei Sothebys in Melbourne für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Important Australian Art wechselte die Arbeit Australian Botan Creek, Rainforest für AUD 144.000,00 (€ 74.257,44) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 160.000,00 – 200.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Robinson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian Landscape With Sunset And Self Portrait im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 696.000,00 (€ 427.957,48).
