In August 2007 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works, which included the work Australian Purling Brook Gorge, Moonlight by William Robinson. The auction ended at the price of AUD 90,000.00 (€ 53,817.90), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of AUD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Robinson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian Landscape With Sunset And Self Portrait in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 696,000.00 (€ 427,957.48).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im August 2007 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Purling Brook Gorge, Moonlight von William Robinson zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von AUD 90.000,00 (€ 53.817,90) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Robinson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian Landscape With Sunset And Self Portrait im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 696.000,00 (€ 427.957,48).
