Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Baziotes could be acquired at Christies in New York in December 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, this work without title changed hands for USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,678.92) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Baziotes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Phantasm in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 1,332,500.00 (€ 1,119,936.12).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Baziotes konnte im Dezember 2017 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 5.625,00 (€ 4.678,92) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Baziotes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Phantasm im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.332.500,00 (€ 1.119.936,12).
