The work A Day at the Beach, Laguna by William Alexander Griffith was sold in the CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Los Angeles in November 2001. It changed hands for a price of USD 3,290.00 (€ 3,672.69) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Alexander Griffith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Along the Laguna Coast in August 2020 with an auction result of USD 87,575.00 (€ 73,370.48).
