Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Irvine Ranch with barn by William Alexander Griffith for USD 1,912.50 (€ 1,642.05). This price was achieved in the auction California and Western Art40th Anniversary Auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Alexander Griffith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Along the Laguna Coast in August 2020 with an auction result of USD 87,575.00 (€ 73,370.48).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Irvine Ranch with barn von William Alexander Griffith für USD 1.912,50 (€ 1.642,05) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion California and Western Art40th Anniversary Auction bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Alexander Griffith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Along the Laguna Coast im August 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.575,00 (€ 73.370,48).
