Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California and Western Art40th Anniversary Auction, which included the work Bathers at Diver's Cove, Laguna Beach by William Alexander Griffith. The price achieved of USD 5,075.00 (€ 4,357.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Alexander Griffith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Along the Laguna Coast in August 2020 with an auction result of USD 87,575.00 (€ 73,370.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California and Western Art40th Anniversary Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bathers at Diver's Cove, Laguna Beach von William Alexander Griffith zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.075,00 (€ 4.357,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Alexander Griffith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Along the Laguna Coast im August 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.575,00 (€ 73.370,48).
