Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Alexander Griffith could be acquired at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the California Art auction, the work Diver's Cove #12, Laguna Beach changed hands for USD 9,562.50 (€ 9,263.30) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Alexander Griffith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Along the Laguna Coast in August 2020 with an auction result of USD 87,575.00 (€ 73,370.48).
