Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Alexander Griffith could be acquired at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the California Art auction, the work Diver's Cove #12, Laguna Beach changed hands for USD 9,562.50 (€ 9,263.30) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Alexander Griffith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Along the Laguna Coast in August 2020 with an auction result of USD 87,575.00 (€ 73,370.48).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Alexander Griffith konnte im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion California Art wechselte die Arbeit Diver's Cove #12, Laguna Beach für USD 9.562,50 (€ 9.263,30) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Alexander Griffith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Along the Laguna Coast im August 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.575,00 (€ 73.370,48).
