Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mountain Pastures - Vermont by Willard Leroy Metcalf was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2015. The price achieved of USD 118,750.00 (€ 107,543.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willard Leroy Metcalf - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work October Festival, which sold at auction in May 2014 for USD 545,000.00 (€ 399,560.12).
