Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2013 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work May Pastoral by Willard Leroy Metcalf. It changed hands for a price of USD 483,750.00 (€ 372,459.19) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Other works by Willard Leroy Metcalf have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2014 the work October Festival was auctioned for USD 545,000.00 (€ 399,560.12).

Im Mai 2013 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit May Pastoral von Willard Leroy Metcalf zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 483.750,00 (€ 372.459,19) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Willard Leroy Metcalf konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2014 die Arbeit October Festival für USD 545.000,00 (€ 399.560,12) versteigert.
