Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Untitled (Three Nudes) by Wang Xingwei. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 1,200,000.00 – 2,200,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 136,954.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Wang Xingwei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blind in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 9,400,000.00 (€ 967,757.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Three Nudes) von Wang Xingwei zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 1.200.000,00 – 2.200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 1.250.000,00 (€ 136.954,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Xingwei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Blind im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.400.000,00 (€ 967.757,38).
