In November 2015 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Untitled (Small Rowboat) by Wang Xingwei. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,060,000.00 (€ 129,464.12), 63% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Wang Xingwei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blind in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 9,400,000.00 (€ 967,757.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen
Im November 2015 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Small Rowboat) von Wang Xingwei zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.060.000,00 (€ 129.464,12) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Xingwei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Blind im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.400.000,00 (€ 967.757,38).
