Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Small Begging) by Wang Xingwei was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 750,000.00 (€ 85,371.84). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Xingwei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blind in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 9,400,000.00 (€ 967,757.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Small Begging) von Wang Xingwei im April 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 750.000,00 (€ 85.371,84) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Xingwei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blind im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.400.000,00 (€ 967.757,38).
