Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Intravenous Bottle) by Wang Xingwei was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in March 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 937,500.00 (€ 106,374.69). Admittedly, works by Wang Xingwei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blind in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 9,400,000.00 (€ 967,757.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Intravenous Bottle) von Wang Xingwei im März 2019 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 1.000.000,00 – 1.500.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 937.500,00 (€ 106.374,69) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Xingwei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Blind im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.400.000,00 (€ 967.757,38).
