Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Wang Chengpei achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Flowers, Birds, Grasses And Worms sold for HKD 525,000.00 (€ 60,006.72) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Wang Chengpei; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Landscape After Ancient Master sold at auction in April this year with the realized price of HKD 96,000.00 (€ 98,034.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Chengpei erzielte im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Flowers, Birds, Grasses And Worms für HKD 525.000,00 (€ 60.006,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 200.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Wang Chengpei; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Landscape After Ancient Master im April diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 96.000,00 (€ 98.034,78).
