Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Victor Hugo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in November 2017. In the Jacques Grange | Collectionneur auction, the work Towers In The Mist sold for EUR 200,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Victor Hugo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La Planète (Saturne), which sold at auction in February 2014 for GBP 434,500.00 (€ 527,153.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Victor Hugo erzielte im November 2017 bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Jacques Grange | Collectionneur wurde die Arbeit Towers In The Mist für EUR 200.000,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Victor Hugo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La Planète (Saturne) beobachtet, die im Februar 2014 für GBP 434.500,00 (€ 527.153,05) versteigert wurde.
