Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Burst Of Light On The Ortach Rock by Victor Hugo was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in March 2019. The price achieved of EUR 47,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Victor Hugo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Planète (Saturne) in February 2014 with an auction result of GBP 434,500.00 (€ 527,153.05).

Die Arbeit Burst Of Light On The Ortach Rock von Victor Hugo kam im März 2019 bei Sothebys in Paris zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 47.500,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Victor Hugo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Planète (Saturne) im Februar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 434.500,00 (€ 527.153,05).
