In November 2021 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Collection Jean-Claude Bellier, which included the work A landscape by night | Paysage de nuit by Victor Hugo. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 13,860.00 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Victor Hugo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Planète (Saturne) in February 2014 with an auction result of GBP 434,500.00 (€ 527,153.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 39 % übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Collection Jean-Claude Bellier durch, in der auch die Arbeit A landscape by night | Paysage de nuit von Victor Hugo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 13.860,00 und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Victor Hugo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Planète (Saturne) im Februar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 434.500,00 (€ 527.153,05).
