The work Drei Figurationszeichen Drei Körperkonfigurationen (Three Characters Figuration Three Bodies Configuration) by Valie Export was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Christies in London in October 2013. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,594.82), 50% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Valie Export; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 'Einkreisung' (Encirclement) (From Körperkonfigurationen (Body Configurations)) sold at auction in October 2020 with the realized price of USD 60,480.00 (€ 51,927.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Drei Figurationszeichen Drei Körperkonfigurationen (Three Characters Figuration Three Bodies Configuration) von Valie Export wurde im Oktober 2013 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 26.594,82) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Valie Export; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit 'Einkreisung' (Encirclement) (From Körperkonfigurationen (Body Configurations)) im Oktober 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 60.480,00 (€ 51.927,53).
