Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Valie Export achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2019. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Zupassung (Fit Into) sold for EUR 17,500.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Valie Export - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Einkreisung' (Encirclement) (From Körperkonfigurationen (Body Configurations)), which sold at auction in October 2020 for USD 60,480.00 (€ 51,927.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Valie Export erzielte im November 2019 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Zupassung (Fit Into) für EUR 17.500,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Valie Export mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Einkreisung' (Encirclement) (From Körperkonfigurationen (Body Configurations)) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für USD 60.480,00 (€ 51.927,53) versteigert wurde.
