Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Tomokazu Matsuyama achieved an unexpectedly high price at POLY in Hong Kong in July last year. In the Modern and Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction, the work Hollow Moon Hypothesis sold for HKD 2,880,000.00 (€ 359,364.83) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,000,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tomokazu Matsuyama; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Something Came Together sold at auction in April last year with the realized price of HKD 5,040,000.00 (€ 609,372.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tomokazu Matsuyama erzielte im Juli letzten Jahres bei POLY in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Hollow Moon Hypothesis für HKD 2.880.000,00 (€ 359.364,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.000.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Tomokazu Matsuyama; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Something Came Together im April letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 5.040.000,00 (€ 609.372,69).
