Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait Of A Man And Portrait Of A Woman: A Pair Of Paintings by Thomas Sully was sold in the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2010. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,241.46). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Sully achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Thomas Jefferson in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 209,100.00 (€ 177,715.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Man And Portrait Of A Woman: A Pair Of Paintings von Thomas Sully wurde im März 2010 in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 12.500,00 (€ 9.241,46) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Sully erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Thomas Jefferson im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 209.100,00 (€ 177.715,45).
