Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2003 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work A still life with a candlestick, fruit and a wine glass by Theo Swagemakers. The price achieved of EUR 956.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Theo Swagemakers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A still life with fruits, a basket and a bowl, which sold at auction in January 2001 for NLG 4,465.00 (€ 1,953.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2003 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A still life with a candlestick, fruit and a wine glass von Theo Swagemakers zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 956,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Theo Swagemakers mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A still life with fruits, a basket and a bowl beobachtet, die im Januar 2001 für NLG 4.465,00 (€ 1.953,80) versteigert wurde.
