Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February 2004 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work A still life with a pear and two lemons by Theo Swagemakers. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 836.50 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Theo Swagemakers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A still life with fruits, a basket and a bowl, which sold at auction in January 2001 for NLG 4,465.00 (€ 1,953.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Februar 2004 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit A still life with a pear and two lemons von Theo Swagemakers zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 836,50 und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Theo Swagemakers mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A still life with fruits, a basket and a bowl beobachtet, die im Januar 2001 für NLG 4.465,00 (€ 1.953,80) versteigert wurde.
