Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work The Secret Of Sunset Beach by Susan Hiller. The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,625.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Susan Hiller - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Inside A Cave Home, Coober Pedy South Australian Desert, which sold at auction in October 2014 for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 25,537.11).
