Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Kembang (Flower) by Sudjana Kerton was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 180,000.00 – 280,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 125,000.00 (€ 14,306.22). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sudjana Kerton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Village Life in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 13,240,000.00 (€ 1,231,405.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Kembang (Flower) von Sudjana Kerton im Mai 2019 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 180.000,00 – 280.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 125.000,00 (€ 14.306,22) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sudjana Kerton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Village Life im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 13.240.000,00 (€ 1.231.405,91).
