This artwork by Sudjana Kerton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale auction, the work Affandi Makan Semangka (Affandi Eating Watermelon) sold for HKD 1,187,500.00 (€ 130,698.40) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sudjana Kerton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Village Life in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 13,240,000.00 (€ 1,231,405.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 98 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sudjana Kerton erzielte im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Affandi Makan Semangka (Affandi Eating Watermelon) für HKD 1.187.500,00 (€ 130.698,40) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 600.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sudjana Kerton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Village Life im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 13.240.000,00 (€ 1.231.405,91).
