Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Skip Trace by Stuart Davis was sold in the Modern Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 252,000.00 (€ 234,833.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stuart Davis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rue Lipp in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 6,847,200.00 (€ 6,047,160.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Skip Trace von Stuart Davis wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 252.000,00 (€ 234.833,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stuart Davis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rue Lipp im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.847.200,00 (€ 6.047.160,65).
