A top price for Stuart Davis - as previously expected
The work Rue Lipp by Stuart Davis was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2018. The price achieved of USD 6,847,200.00 (€ 6,047,160.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000,000.00 – 8,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Rue Lipp is the most expensive artwork by Stuart Davis that we have observed at auctions so far.
