Auction result misses estimated price range
In March last year a collector was able to acquire the work Self Portrait by Stanton Macdonald-Wright for USD 1,260.00 (€ 1,135.85). This price was achieved in the auction Modern Discoveries at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanton Macdonald-Wright achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still-Life Synchromy in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 2,165,000.00 (€ 1,740,633.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Self Portrait von Stanton Macdonald-Wright für USD 1.260,00 (€ 1.135,85) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern Discoveries bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stanton Macdonald-Wright erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still-Life Synchromy im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.165.000,00 (€ 1.740.633,54).
