Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Stanton Macdonald-Wright could be acquired at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the California and Western Art Online auction, the work Death of the Buddha; Homage to Pierre Louÿs (double-sided) changed hands for USD 1,912.50 (€ 1,563.78) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanton Macdonald-Wright achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still-Life Synchromy in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 2,165,000.00 (€ 1,740,633.54).
