This artwork by Squeak Carnwath achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in July 2020. In the Prints & Multiples Online auction, the work Look See sold for USD 1,402.50 (€ 1,191.18) - well above the upper estimate of USD 800.00. Admittedly, works by Squeak Carnwath have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dress Memory, 1998 in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,376.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Squeak Carnwath erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints & Multiples Online wurde die Arbeit Look See für USD 1.402,50 (€ 1.191,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Squeak Carnwath auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dress Memory, 1998 im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.376,10).
