Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Squeak Carnwath could be acquired at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California auction, the work Memory Structure, 1998 changed hands for USD 2,167.50 (€ 1,872.25) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Squeak Carnwath have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dress Memory, 1998 in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,376.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Squeak Carnwath konnte im September 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California wechselte die Arbeit Memory Structure, 1998 für USD 2.167,50 (€ 1.872,25) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Squeak Carnwath auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dress Memory, 1998 im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.376,10).
