Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Let Sleep by Squeak Carnwath for USD 1,175.00 (€ 1,357.13). This price was achieved in the auction Post War and Contemporary Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Squeak Carnwath have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dress Memory, 1998 in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,376.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Let Sleep von Squeak Carnwath für USD 1.175,00 (€ 1.357,13) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post War and Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Squeak Carnwath auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dress Memory, 1998 im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.376,10).
