Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2019 Phillips in New York held the auction 20th C. & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session, which included the work Interparticular by Spencer Sweeney. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,478.45). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Spencer Sweeney - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Saint Tropez Gigolo, which sold at auction in July 2020 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 42,466.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2019 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th C. & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Interparticular von Spencer Sweeney zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 13.750,00 (€ 12.478,45) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Spencer Sweeney mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Saint Tropez Gigolo beobachtet, die im Juli 2020 für USD 50.000,00 (€ 42.466,45) versteigert wurde.
