Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Spencer Sweeney could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the 21st Century Art Day Sale auction, the work VISITATION changed hands for HKD 16,380.00 (€ 1,944.66) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 55,000.00 – 85,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Spencer Sweeney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint Tropez Gigolo in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 42,466.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Spencer Sweeney konnte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit VISITATION für HKD 16.380,00 (€ 1.944,66) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 55.000,00 – 85.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Spencer Sweeney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Saint Tropez Gigolo im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 42.466,45).
