In June 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post-War British Art Day Sale, which included the work An Open Staircase, La Capponcina, Cap D’Ail by Winston Churchill. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 150,000.00 (€ 169,525.56), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Winston Churchill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tower Of The Koutoubia Mosque in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 8,285,000.00 (€ 9,732,740.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Open Staircase, La Capponcina, Cap D’Ail von Winston Churchill zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 150.000,00 (€ 169.525,56) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Winston Churchill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tower Of The Koutoubia Mosque im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.285.000,00 (€ 9.732.740,78).
